Nine Inch Nails
"I hurt myself today to see if I still feel. I focus on the pain which is the only thing real."
Nine Inch Nails- There is No Alternative
Nine Inch Nails, a rock alternative group, is a classic to many Americans. You just can’t beat their style. Born out of the state of Ohio, many people love the work that was started by one artist. Nine Inch Nails, otherwise known as NIN has come far to get to where it is today and it was due to one man.
The band was first formed by Trent Reznor in the year 1987. He had started out with the Exotic Birds before deciding it was time for something else. He had great hookups with a studio in which he got free studio time to record some of his own things with any studio time that was available. In 1988 he made it big. He had done his first show with Skinny Puppy and released his first album 12-inch. He got the recognition that he needed that he was signed and thus started creating the albums that many fans love still today.
Nine Inch Nails - The Formation of Greatness
Shortly after he made a name for the name he was given at birth, Trent created the name Nine Inch Nails. There are many theories as to why he chose this name. Though, Trent spoke out about there real reason. He told those who wondered why he chose this was because you could abbreviate it easily. After that, he had made music that rocked the world.
The Name is Formed
His first full album, Pretty Hate Machine was the first album that was made under the label of Nine Inch Nails. Following this album another album was created in 1992. This was titled Broken. The next full album though was created in 1994 titled The Downward Spiral which was one of the first 200 most loved songs on the Billboards top charts.
In 1999 a double CD was made. This was titled The Fragile. It sold over two hundred thousand copies. The CD was such a hit that Reznor and Nine Inch Nails took a tour in 2000 which then supplied the fuel to create another CD. This was With Teeth. There was a long gap before this CD was made. They had come back from tour, but didn’t’ put this CD out until 2005, but just as it was with the other CD this one was just as popular.
It became quite popular that Nine Inch Nails wait a few years in between to put out their new CD. Following 2005, Songs that were created often had promotional videos to get fans excited about what was to come. Tours took up most of Nine Inch Nails time as they toured all over the place and gained more and more fans than one could ever imagine.
Three more CDs were made by Nine Inch Nails before they ended tour. This was Year Zero in 2007 and then Ghosts I-IV and The Slip that both came about in 2008. in 2009, Nine Inch Nails took a break. Reznor made the decision and posted this on his site. They are just taking a nice break in which Gary Numan and Trent Reznor would come together to bring about new songs for Nine Inch Nails. So, for all you song lovers out there, it’s just a vacation nothing more.
