The girl that would go on to be known throughout the pop scene as Laura Pausini would go on to become one of the most successful singers of the current age. She was born in the year of 1974 in a small town in Italy. She would be encouraged by her father to start a singing career by entering into contests across the nation and bringing her voice and style to the public.

She started singing at the age of thirteen under the direction of her father when she began to perform at piano bars and clubs in her home town. Her father would prove to be a driving force in her life and long be a part of her recording career, pushing her forward when sometimes she did not necessarily want to be pushed. However, it would eventually prove to be a very positive aspect of her life.

Bringing Her Sound

Laura would begin her singing career at the age of eight years old when she would start performing at local clubs and night spots under the management of her father, who would also perform as well. By the time she was thirteen years old, she would start recording in the studio where she would produce her first album called I Songni di Laura, which was a semi professional release in 1987 and was also produced by her father. She would get her first big break when she would win the Italian Sanremo Music Festival by singing her song called La Solitudine.

She would go on to sign a recording contract with Warner Music of Italy and would eventually be afforded the chance to release her first professional full length studio album. Her first album would be self titled and was released in 1993. The album would prove to be a great success in her home country of Italy and also go on to gain acclaim in the Netherlands as well. She would go on tour in the many countries of Europe where she would solidify her fan base as well as enable herself to start playing much larger venues to gain more recognition.

Start of Success

The singer would go on to tour across Europe in the early 1990’s after the release of her debut album but would quickly return to the studio to release her next album called Laura. The record was released in the year of 1994 and would gain much acclaim to the point to where they were offering her a second deal to record the album in the Spanish language as well. From this release, it was said that the singer would become a prominent household name in many of the Spanish speaking countries throughout Europe.

Due to the demand for her songs in Spanish, she would go on to re record many of her songs and her debut album in the Spanish language to afford her Spanish speaking fans the opportunity to enjoy her music in their own native language. She would go on to be awarded the certification as the most played songs of 1995 illustrated by the Hot Latin Billboard tracks. She would then go on to record music in the English language as well which would again afford her a much larger audience in which to sell her records. She would be recognized in the United Kingdom for her music and would eventually collaborate with Richard Marx on his song One More Time.
