Bon Jovi
Jersey Kid
He would eventually quit the band and go on to work part time at various jobs as well as taking a job at a studio where he would begin recording demos and singles along with meeting music legend Billy Squier. Although he would produce a number of songs, none would get picked up and he would be without a contract; however, his persistence would pay off.
Running Away
The group would go on to create their first full length studio album that was self titled and would be released in January of 1984. The single recorded earlier called Runaway would be the album’s first hit single. They would go on a localized tour of the album and then go back into the studio to release their second full length studio album called 7800 Farenheit. The album did not receive the reception that they had wanted but it would afford the group to go back on tour and make some money in order to try again.
While on the road, they would be afforded another chance to begin headlining venues in Europe as well as Japan. They would also go on tour with the popular band called Ratt although they would form their own headlining tour through the United States.
Glimpse of Success
The group would gain international acclaim for their album and be a staple of the MTV playlist. Their album would spend a total of at least eight weeks on the Billboard album charts at the number one position and they would win the Best Stage Performance MTV Video Music Award. The group would go on tour in 1987 where they would headline a total of one hundred and thirty shows. They would go on to release numerous more albums over the course of their career and are still playing as of the present.
